Audio Description:
“Little Blues” is a vocal and instrumental song featuring cello, resonator guitar, and electric guitar, with vocal phrasing influenced by raga, including subtle, wave-like shifts between notes.
The arrangement unfolds slowly with gentle repetition and a soft-to-moderate dynamic range. One brief section includes electric guitar distortion typical of indie pop/rock; no abrupt volume shifts.
Musically, the piece reflects on childhood imagination as a safe space, balancing moments of warmth with a more unsettled atmosphere.

Lyrics by Betty Power Music by Betty Power and Dan Marfisi Once I was a mermaid I was a girl I’d dream in my bubble bath Under the water sounds of the world floated like long blonde hair Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah… The ice is very thin It breaks and I fall in Water so cold I like to play with fire It makes such pretty scars On my outside I have always known the little blues God it’s heavy stepping in these shoes Don’t cry for me don’t cry for me oh little blues Once I was a mermaid I was a girl I shot up so suddenly Under the pressure I turned to dream but dreaming abandoned me Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah… The ice is very thin It breaks and I fall in Water so cold I like to play with fire It makes such pretty scars On my outside I have always known the little blues God it’s heavy stepping in these shoes Don’t cry for me don’t cry for me oh little blues Sometimes I miss the chemical bliss my baby-blue goodnight kiss Dreamless sleep shamelessly my substitute for love Ashes ashes, all fall down, down I have always known the little blues God it’s heavy stepping in these shoes Don’t cry for me don’t cry for me oh little blues
